If you’re looking for a cashless payment method, KeyBank offers a suite of cards that provide zero liability fraud protection, 24/7 customer service, and online and mobile banking.

First up is the Key2More Rewards credit card. Co-branded with Mastercard, it comes with no annual fee, although its APR for purchases and balance transfers is typically fairly high. The balance transfer fee itself is the greater of 4% or $10, and this is in addition to the annual percentage rate for the balance. Other transactions, such as cash advances and convenience checks, have the same steep fee.

In exchange for the above-average APR and 4%/$10 pricing schedule, the Key2More Rewards card comes with a free membership in KeyBank’s customer loyalty program. Called KeyBank Relationship Rewards, it delivers five rewards points for every $1 spent on eligible purchases. Furthermore, the Key2More Rewards card receives a 25% bonus in Relationship Rewards points for spending over $1,000 in a month, or 50% for charging more than $2,000 with the card. Even better, KeyBank does not impose any limit on the number of points that can be earned with the card.

The Key2More Rewards card also comes with auto rental coverage at no additional cost. It doubles the original manufacturer’s warranty on most purchased items, although there is a maximum limit of 24 months.

The second credit card KeyBank offers is the Latitude card. It also is co-branded with Mastercard and has no annual fee, but differs from the Key2More Rewards card in some important areas. For example, the Latitude card has a lower APR and doesn’t earn any points in KeyBank’s Relationship Rewards program.

The Latitude card decreases the maximum timeline of KeyBank’s extended warranty from 24 months to just 12. While some of Latitude’s policies may seem disappointing, there are some areas where it may outperform. For example, when KeyBank offers promotions, such as introductory interest rates, the Latitude card may have a lower rate or longer period of 0% financing compared to the Key2More Rewards card. The Latitude card also may waive KeyBank’s balance transfer fee as a bonus introductory offer.

Both cards come with e-mail alerts, and cardholders can choose a monthly payment date. KeyBank’s credit cards also provide travel and emergency assistance, courtesy of Mastercard. Both cards also offer sixty days of price protection for members who find a better price on an item within two months of purchase.

KeyBank has a third Mastercard for customers who have less-than-stellar credit. This one is a pre-paid card that can be used in lieu of a credit card. Called the Key Possibilities card, it can also be used instead of money orders, checks, cash, and store cards. Because it is a Mastercard, it can be used at millions of locations worldwide; so it naturally makes a good gift.

The Key Possibilities card can be purchased at any KeyBank location. For bank customers, the minimum denomination is $25, and the upper limit is $2,500. Consumers who don’t have a KeyBank account are limited to just $500. In either case, card balances are held with KeyBank.

There is a one-time $3.95 fee charged by KeyBank for the card. Mastercard charges its own monthly fee beginning twelve months after the card is issued. KeyBank is able to impose per-day and per-transaction limits on the card.

The Key Possibilities card can be used to withdraw cash at any ATM with the STAR and Cirrus logos. There is a $300 daily limit to cash withdrawals, however.

A card’s balance expires on the expiration date listed on the front of the card. If KeyBank does not receive a written request for the return of the balance within 30 days of a card’s expiration, the funds are permanently forfeited.
