Over the last few months, several retailers have opted to create their own credit cards. These store cards, also called retail or private label credit cards, are options that can only be used at one particular store. These cards can also be incorporated with store loyalty programs, making it convenient for retailers to encourage loyalty while having an easy payment option that can also benefit their bottom line. Here's a look at a few of the store cards that are or will soon be available.

In May fast fashion retailer Forever 21 announced it had partnered with Alliance Data Systems Corp. to launch its store credit card in the U.S. Although details haven't yet been released, Alliance noted that the application process would be simple, and that the card would have a loyalty program element to it. Alliance is also able to connect with customers through mobile and digital platforms, so if you get a Forever 21 credit card, the company will likely be able to connect with you in more ways than just through email.

"We will draw on our retail heritage and leverage our extensive experience in the retail apparel category to engage Forever 21 shoppers in new ways," said Melisa Miller, president of Alliance Data's card services business, in a statement. "Working collaboratively, we will drive greater brand loyalty and increase sales through a credit program that extends the reach of the bran and offers the features and benefits that appeal to its fashion-forward customers."

Two Oklahoma-based retailers are also launching store cards. Bob Mills Furniture, with eight locations in Oklahoma and Texas partnered with TD Bank to issue the card, which is called the Bob Mills Furniture "Get It Now" card.

"Financing has been a critical part of the services we offer our customers. It is essential that we elevate our card services program and partner with an innovative company that can offer an extensive range of affordable financing options to our customers," said Bob Mills, president and CEO of Bob Mills Furniture, in a statement. Mills added that the card would allow the retailer to offer a "commission-free shopping environment" for customers.

Tulsa-based gas retailer QuikTrip partnered with a different issuer for its QuikTrip Credit Card. First Bankcard will be providing this store card, which can be used to purchase food, fuel and other items at any of the over 700 QuikTrip stores in the U.S.

QuikTrip cardholders will be able to earn rewards points and a three-cent per gallon fuel discount when they use the card. Rewards points accrue based on in-store purchases, where cardholders can earn one point per dollar spent. Once they hit 200 points, cardholders can redeem them for a $10 QuikTrip gift card.

The card comes with two initial bonus offers. Once approved for the card, cardholders will receive 100 bonus bones. Additionally, they'll get a statement credit for an additional 22 cents off per gallon up to 200 gallons during the card's first two billing cycles. The retailer plans to have special bonus offers and promotions for the card at different times during the year.

"QuikTrip is always looking for ways to simplify and improve our customer experience," said Chuck Barton, vice president of marketing for QuikTrip, in a statement. "This new card will provide an extra level of value to our customers who rely on us for food and fuel. In addition to our everyday competitive pricing, our new QuikTrip card rewards our loyal customers with added savings throughout the year."

While store cards generally do not have an annual fee, make sure to look at the APR and terms of the card when applying, as store cards can often have higher interest rates than standard credit cards.
